Hi

I have just upgraded my machine from a Athlon XP1600 to a XP2700. All the settings seem correct.

However, windows won't work. When I boot up the machine, evertthing is fine, and when the dos windows screen comes on with the progress bar - thats fine. Then one of two problems happend. Either the machine retarts itself just before the windows graphical interface with the progress comes on Or (most common) the graphical interface comes up, but the progress bar sticks half way and thats it.

Help please, i have no hair left

Sounds like it's overheating, check all your fans, remove and replace them.

Thanks,

I have put a new, better fan on. The CPU temp is showing 48 degrees.

The only way I have found to get into Winows is to disable the LAN in the bios.

However, I now have no USB at all, and have tried re-installing the motherboard drivers.

I'm going to install a copy of Windows XP later.

3. Some of the System Files are might be corrupted or Missing.

4. May be Boot Sector is infected by virus
