Hi,
I got a computer with 4gb of RAM, and am aware that XP can only show 3.something gb with PAE on. I have PAE on, yet it only shows 2gb. Tried reseating, using different slots, and one stick at a time, none are faulty, but it only shows 2gb... msinfo shows 4gb, so does the BIOS, but everything else shows up as 2gb. Anyone know why this is happening?
EDIT: sorry if it's a bit hard to see, didn't notice when posting...

It's 4GB for everything, so all you other items (GFX card etc.) take out of it too.

Ok, my graphics card is HD4870 1GB, since XP can only show 3gb, it takes 1gb off that right?

Ahh, okay. Programs, games etc. can still use the RAM that isn't showing though, am I correct? Thanks.

No, that RAM is mapped to the video card when the kernel is loaded, it cannot be reallocated.

Wait, so I have 4gb. 1GB is mapped to the video card, so there is 3gb left... but I can only use 2gb?
