If they dont show in the bios they are not plugged in properly or faulty.

I have checked the cables they are all keyed in properly. The molex to sata cable is also working because the drive is warm to the touch (normal from ebuyer comments).
In the BIOS i only have settings for IDE primary and secondary channels i cannot find any setting regarding SATA in any BIOS menu.
Has anyone had experience with this type of problem?
Thank you

SATA drives dont need any settings in the BIOS, try another SATA port on the mobo and different power connector.

Failing that try the drive in another machine or just get it swapped.

The drive will show up in the BIOS post screen if it is ok, then move onto getting it showing in Windows.

Hello i have bought a PCI sata card that interfaces with the hard drive. The raid utility picks it up just after the bios post screens but i cant do anything with this utility. If i want to create a raid it says not enough single drives so then the other options like delete a raid resolve conflicts and low level format are all useless. There are no other options in this utility so i just exit.
Moving onto windows i have the drive in device manager under disk drives and under scsi controller no notifications about drivers not being installed properly. But after all this i cannot find the bloody hard drive in my computer so i cant save or transfer files, I cant even format to NTFS.
Somebody please bloody help meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I have used Western digital utility to format the hard drive to NTFS, i dont know if it has been formatted properly because it didnt even take 10 mins, is that normal? I was thinking maybe because I dont have an operating system on there it was formatted so fast, can someone confirm?
I have read on ebuyer (ebuyer has withdrawn item so cannot refer to original comments) that someone had a problem with transferring large files on this drive, something to do with command queing. Does anyone know what command queing is and if should be enabled/disabled.
Any help would be much appreciated
Thanks
