Good day to you all, i have a problem, i have recently purchased an Acer Aspire Notebook 8703ZG and the DVD-RW drive ceased working. Now this could be my own fault as i may have deleted this driver by mistake anyway i have searched through the various places in order to see if i can retrieve it but to no avail, i have also searched the Acer website for a replacement driver and unfortunately it is not there, so a friend told me about this place and he said if these people cannot help you then no one can. The driver i am seeking is an "Optiarc DVD RW AD 7580S ATA Device" maybe someone out there will point me in the right direction but if not, i can say i am most grateful for your attempt to do so.

You can't download a driver for your drive - it doesn't need one, there will be another fault.

What version of Windows is installed?

Have a look in Device Manager and see if there is a yellow question or exclamation mark against your DVD drive.

If so, right click over it and select Properties

In Device Status does it say something like "Device cannot start" and then an error code?

If so, post it please.

Delete it in device manager and reboot, it will reinstall. You dont need additional drivers as others have said, windows uses it's own.
