Default Amiga hard drive data recovery...

How would I go about retrieving files from a busted amiga hard drive?

I tried taking it out of my A600 and putting it into my then newly-purchased A1200, but something wasn't right and neither the 1200 or the 600 would see it.

I'd like to see if i can salvage the files and use them on my PC with an emulator.

Can anyone help? Thanks!

Try putting the busted hard drive in your IDE ribbon cable as slave, change the jumpers, if the computer detects it then drag it onto your new hard drive ;]
If it doesn't then you might be able to use some sort of software, i am afraid i cannot help you that :D

I'm pretty sure Amiga's used a totally different file system to Windows FAT32 or NTFS.

So I doubt a Windows machine will be able to see the files at all.

Googling for some 3rd party software is your best bet.
