I was wondering whether it would be a viable choice to begin selling blank Blu-Ray discs through eBay. Blu-Ray drives and movies have just arrived in Australia, and I believe that there might be quite a future for them.

The main question though, is: Do you think that the process of buying Blu-Ray discs cheap from China, and selling them through eBay would be a profitable idea?

Just so you know I have a friend (kcJoker from the forums) who can speak Chinese, so he would be in charge of orders.

Please provide feedback.

If the market is there for the item and if you can purchase and ship (bulk buying?) and mark-up the items below retail in the shops to still leave you enough of a profit to warrant making the move then yes.

Problem is that one or the other format still hasn't 'beaten' the other so it's still all rather up in the air as to which one (BR or HD) will become the standard.

I'd say it's a bit premature right now, but thats just me.

I agree with Alex, plus Iwould be very wary of cheap imports from China, that have no brand name.
Even dual layer disks are still very "iffy" unless you use Verbatims and the thought of having hundreds/thousands of inferior quality disks and customers demanding refunds, could be a nightmare !

Hmm I see your point...

Everything comes from China though, but I would probably buy Verbatim anyway.

I think I'll just keep looking around until I find my "niche market". Anyway got any suggestions of an eBay market not yet run dry?
