Hi every body!

I installed a liteon cd-dvd writer, and since then everytime i try to start my pc
i have to try at least 3 times (stays on asrock)
When it finally boots bios screan appears and states:
System failed to boot several times before you must enter setup
to reconfigure system.
I have no idea what to do so i exit system screen.
Can somebody please help.
thank in advance.

Either the hard drive is faulty or the BIOS is not setup to detect it.

If you haven't changed any BIOS settings recently then I'd go with the faulty hard drive.

That is why the post screen hangs longer than normal as it is having trouble reading the hard drive.

Your confused?

I'm baffled...

In the first post you say the PC doesn't boot, then in the second you say the CD writer works fine, how can it if the PC doesn't boot?

What exactly is the PC not doing correctly?

It's possible the writer is faulty or not setup correctly.

The PC knows this and that is why it doesn't boot properly when it is plugged in.

If you setup the jumpers correctly then I would take it back to the shop and get it changed.
