I brought a 500GB seagate SATA hard drive for external use, but couldn't get it to work. although it did recognize the drive and was set up rdy to use, but yet, when i gone to MY COMPUTER, there is no drive shown...so i checked in device manager and it does show the drive in number n letter form.. like ST5300SAS etc etc and no yellow caution signs appear, so i asume everything is in working order.
i know when a brand new seal Hard drive should format first, but i dont know how to format it because in MY COMPUTER wont show the drive.. anyone know how to get that Format option? or any altnative ways to get the hard drive working? i am running on vista home. |

You need to go into Disc Manager and set the drive up.
