Default can dvd's burned with music be palyed on...

...a cd rom? want to burn music using my dvd burner as it holds more songs....but can it be played back on a regular cd player

I'd say no, if it's a regular CD player it can't read DVDs this is because of the disc structure, it's not the same. The laser of the CD player is designed to read all tracks on a CD, but they are different in DVDs. The same happens if you try to read a DVD in a standard CD ROM unit of PC.

Afraid it's not possible at all. It will play in your DVD player by your TV, which in turn can be plugged into decent speakers but it is so much easier to just burn to CD-R.

I see why you'd want to use DVD for it's storage space but it's just not possible at the moment!

Burn the songs to a CD in MP3 format, then get a cd player that plays MP3s.

You can fit like 200 MP3s on a CD.

Problem solved.
