Default Can I use CD-ROM to run DVD and see movie?

I heard from others said that in market have a software, it can make the CD-ROM to run a DVD, but I don't know the Software name, and also don't know whether in market have such software! Help the blur blur me, please?

impossible, because its the hardware that reads it not the software. and if you do not under stand that then, it means you cannot change what the computer reads buy the porgrams you install, you would have to physically change the cd-drive and unless your a complete expert then i would just buy a DVD drive.

No, it's not possible to view a DVD on a CD-ROM because CD-ROMs use a red laser and DVDs use purple lasers. There is no such software that can change the lens format because it's all in the hardware. DVD-ROMs aren't that expensive though. They range from about $15-$30 and you can find them at Wal-Mart or any computer store.

Our computer did not have a DVD drive, so my father just went out and bought one that is portable and connects to the computer. It works.
