Default Cd/dvd drive not recognised

Hi,

I have noticed that my CD/DVD drive is not being recognised.
When I insert any a CD or DVD the disk spins but it is not shown in my computer.

I have checked the connections and they are firmly connected.

the make and model is:

AOpen, CD/DVD Rewritable drive
Model no. DUW1616/ARR
P/N: 91.4ID37.273
S/N: 52816653JE B

Any suggestions please

Regards

Vinnie

Default Cd/dvd drive not recognised

Hi am assuming that the drive is missing from my computer but is recognised on the bios boot sequence. If this is correct you will need to follow the below procedure to return your drive.

Click start and goto run (if windows xp) if vista click start and click on the "start search"box

Type regedit

navigate to the following key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{4D36E965-E325 -11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

Delete the following
"Upperfilters" and "Lowerfilters".

Restart your computer and you should find your drive has returned

Hope this helps

I have exact same issue with my card reader ZC, you reckon deleting those registry values would sort that as well?
