Old RAM in atm, daren't put the new back in.
Did try doing the hard drive check by downloading the thing from Samsung but couldn't get it to boot from the disk.

The instructions for downloading and burning the Samsung utility are quite explicit. Did you follow the instructions to the letter ? .... did you download the 2 required files (Hutil210.exe & Hutil210.zip) ?

If not the disk you create will not be bootable. If in doubt check back here for instructions.

Also you might want to check your drive boot sequence in bios to change your 1st boot device to Floppy Drive A:
