Hi all :)

Ive formatted a ton of Desktop PCs before but never a Notebook.
Basically Notebook crashed (nc4200 compaq hp).
When i try to Install Windows Xp, after it boots off disk and collects all system infomation, it Says " Cannot detect HDD " ....
I know the HDD is connected ive ran 4 or more Daigs on it in the Bios Settings

Someone out there please solve my headache lol

Set your SATA gard drive to IDE mode in your BIOS.

XP cannot detect SATA drives with a lot of messing around with drivers, it's easier just to run the drive in IDE mode.
