friend of mine gave me a 20gb hard drive he wasnt using
i hooked it up as a slave to my normal 120 gb one and used to put stuff on.
used it for probably 1-2 years problem free.

i was having some stupid problem with my router or something and anyway...
i restart the computer a few times, never doing anything inside.......
the next time i try and access the drive through anything (windows explorer, any program). it says. this drive is not formatted. do you want to format.

of coarse i say no... it wont let me access it no matter what without asking if i want to format it. after trying everything i can think of... i think of whats on it and decide... whatever, if it will get it back in use then yes format it... so i use a regular windows quick format and bam... done. the drive is back in use... but now it says its only 1.95 gb!!!!! ***... has anyone ever heard of this... plus.... i just realized thats where i moved my personal pics from my digital camera a few months back and i forgot when i decided to move em to that drive... and i dont know if they are gone or whats the deal.... cause the format took no time at all and the drive now only reads 1.95gb instead of the 20gb its supposed to be.

the brand is microsoft im pretty sure.
help me out. anyone ever heard of this?
