I have a Uniwill laptop 259EN3, or IBUYPOWER Batallion 101 Turbo, or its also known as various other brands as well. However, recently it is not reading any type of blank dvd media (This includes various brands of DVD+R, and one brand of DVD-R). However, now when I insert a blank DVD it only reads it as a blank CD. DVD Decrypter when started says "Device Not Ready (Medium Not Present)" and thus wont burn anything. Even when I insert my one of my previously burned media it wont read at all. I know that DVD drives do wear out over time, but I was just wondering if there was any fix to this that doesn't require a new DVD Burner. Thanks guys for your help.
