Hi guys, I seem to be having trouble with my disk drive.. Ive had my computer for a couple of years now and Ive never had a problem with it until today. I got Call of Duty World at War and went to install it but the autorun didnt work, so I went into my computer and double-clicked on my DVD/CD-RW drive but nothing happened for a minute or so then I got a message saying "d:/ Access is denied". Now i keep getting that message on what ever I put into my cd drive, even Cod4, which was fine until today.
Nothing has been changed on my PC & I am the only user.

If anyone has any solutions, please let me know.

Thanks

Hollywood

P.S. Spec is as follows,
Dell Dimension DM051
Pentium 4 3.00GHz
2.00GB Ram
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT
71.4Gb HDD
TSST corp CDRWDVD TS-H492C

SORRY !!

If XP, go to Start, Contol Panel, System, Hardware, Device Manager, DVD/CD-Rom Drives and uninstall the drive.
Hopefully on reboot XP will detect and fix the problem for you

Thanks for the help SocialWarfare.. I did what you asked and now my disk drive works fine except for when I try to run Call of Duty World at War. Ive tried the game on another machine and it worked so I dont think the game is faulty.

Would I need to get a new disk drive? If so, can you recommend one?

Many thanks

You could try looking for a firmware update for that drive
