Hi all hope you had a gud xmas:))
Rite i got a new LG dvd ram drive for xmas to go with my nec dvd ram drive so i can dual copy discs.
Now when i boot up both dvd drives posts up as ide 1 and ide 2 but when i go into my computer the nec one is not showing.
This problem is not all the time, as i type now they are both in there and working fine but i bet if i reboot the nec will vanish again and so on.....but they always post in bios if it shows or not in my computer..
Now if i unplug the LG one the NEC one will show everytime..
I have checked cables, jumpers,firmware, even a new ide cable has been fitted but still it comes on when it feels like.
any ideas why this is doing it please?

You have not said if you are using nero as your burning software so I am assuming you are, try this procedure and see if it works.

[Start] [Run] [Regedit]
Registry Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class
Key Name: {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
Value Data: [Delete All Value Data from UpperFilters and LowerFilters]
Note: Do not delete the Key or the Multi-String Values. Delete only the data values.
Exit Registry and Reboot
