Hi,

My dvd rom drive doesnt work since i've changed Motherboard. there is power getting to the drive because it does open when the computer is running. I dont have any software for the drive and am not not sure of what the make is. Could I install drivers for another dvd rom which has the same specification. The drive doesnt appear in My computer or in device manager but it does apear in bios.

Any questions let me know and I hope I can answer them.

Thanks

If you're using XP, there are no drivers necessary, as XP provides generic drivers (one size fits all).

If you have changed your mobo, are you sure all your connections and jumpers are correct ?

Did you add or swap around any of the drives ?

That's odd, if it shows in the BIOS but not in disc manager then I can only think it may be faulty.

You could also try another IDE channel just to be safe, again make sure it shows in the BIOS first.
