| I have just got an external hard drive that I intend to have plugged into my computer all the time. I know that if I am going to unplug the hard drive I have to use 'safely remove hardware', the question is, do I have to do this every time I want to shutdown the computer or can I just leave it plugged in all the time and not worry about going through that procedure? Cheers |

| I can't say I've ever used the safely remove hardware option. I just unplug and shut down at will and never have any problems.
