| I tried the Windows Error-Check tool before and it found nothing. What do you mean by another enclosure? I do have my XHDD sitting on top of my tower, if that would effect anything... |

| Enclosures like these . There are 2 x types IDE or SATA, so when you crack it open, you will know which it is.

| I see. I might just get a new XHDD as it was. What brand would you guys reccommend? 500 GB. We have an internal seagate hard-drive that works wonderful...so I might pick up one of those. |

| To be honest Western Digital are amongst the best .... also Samsung drives are rated highly. Saegat are now merged with Maxtor and their drives are not normally regarded amongst the best. |
