| Hi, Sometimes when I turn on my computer, it gets to the welcome screen and freezes. I've Googled and it said that external hard drives/usb's should be removed, and it works. But sometimes with my external hard drive plugged in, it doesn't freeze at the welcome screen. I want to know if there is a possible way to keep my external hard drive plugged in and have Windows not freeze on the welcome screen 100%. If anyone knows how to do this, I would much appreciate knowing .

| Bad sector... Does that happen even when the hard drive is off? Because it freezes even when the external hard drive is off, only plugged in. I've tried different USB ports, but it still sometimes freezes.

| Well there's the usual whirring when I turn it on, then there's some noise when I'm copying stuff etc. but it remains silent when on and not in use.
