Heyy

Okay, so ive got a Western Digital USB 500gb external drive, works perfectly.

'Cept, ive found today, that when i try to a file thats over about 2gb, it says theres not enough free space, when ive got well over 300gb free...

Ive tried copying lots of small files over that are equal to the amount of the single larger file, and it works fine, so there is certainly room!

The problem only occurs when its a single file, not a folder.

Anyone ever seen this before? Or know how to fix it? Ive never seen anything like it before, the same files copy onto my memory stick fine, just not this hard drive. I have other drives that ive put in enclosures, and the files copy to them fine as well!

Cheers, MCTW

Are you sure it's files over 2gb and not 4gb ?

Drives formatted in FAT32 have a filesize limit of 4gb, whereas NTFS allows any size.
