on vista you can use one to add more RAM for your computer but is there any way at all i could do this for xp?

No, you could add an extra 4GB of poorly optimized solid-state disk storage through a slow USB standard extremely far from the northbridge that does absolutely nothing for Windows but subsidize flash drive manufacturers.

flash drive max bandwidth, 20-30 MB/s. Max bandwidth of DDR-333 RAM, about 4GB/s, max bandwith of DDR-2 800MHz, over 8.5GB/s. see where speed becomes an issue?
