Default Hard Drive?

RPM = The speed the drive spins at, meaning the data can be accessed quicker the faster the RPM.

xMB Cache = The amount of memory the drive has, if a drive has more memory than another drive it can read data ahead of it being needed in larger amounts, making the overall drive faster.

ATA = Old type of connection to the motherboard.

SATA/SATA2 etc. = Newer type of connection to the motherboard, again making the access to the data faster.

Default Hard Drive?

You can setup hard drives in what is called RAID.

Done in certain configurations improves speed even further.
