Default Hard Drive Booting Problem

So i boot and once its loaded the bios and drives it says media failiure check cable, i can see my 2 dvd drives on the list of devices but no hard drive.

i tryed booting from cd and no luck
i tryed a diffrent cable for my hard drive no luck
i tryed a diffrent port for my hard drive no luck

i made sure the cables were titly put in and even test the other cables on my dvd drives to make sure the cables were not faulty

my hard drive is also full of bad stuff if you know what i mean t0rR3n7z and such, is my only opition to send it back?

If the drive doesn't show in bios and you have checked all the connections, then it sounds as though your HDD is toast.

I take it the PC was working ok and you haven't made any hardware changes or changed any jumpers on IDE drives.

What happened when you tryed booting from CD?

I'm just thinking it's bit of a coincidence them both going at once. Possibly mobo fault, or PSU.

when i but from cd it goes to LOadiNg WiNdowS FileS then about 70% windows boot manager says an error has occured due to a removable device being removed when in use or a faulty cd or hard drive is connected but when i remove the hard drive it dosent boot from the cd it gets stuck loadin win files at 70%

unplug the power, take out the CMOS battery and leave for a min or 2, then stick the battery back in, and on power on itll ask for the clock to be reset etc etc. it sometimes helps with booting problems. only takes a few mins, so is worth a try!
