Shopping for 1tb hard drive. Which is more important , speed, rpm or cache. Seems like on a budget you have to give up some of one or the other. Choice's are 5900 rpm and 32mb cache or 7200 rpm and 16mb cache. Thx for your time.

Depends is noise a factor for you? Is this for your laptop?

Cache doesn't matter, RPM matters quite a bit. 5200RPM drives are only useful for bulk storage and/or laptop battery life. If this is a system drive for a desktop get the 7200RPM no question. If it's a bulk media drive for a desktop and you have the OS on another 7200RPM drive, I'd still get the 7200RPM drive but the other one is fine if it's sufficiently cheaper.
