Default Hard Drive Fun!

Hey all, I've just finished taking apart my first hard drive, it was awesome , I took of the top case revealing the platters and they were cleaner then i thought they were, pictures do it no justice, it was like looking into a spotless mirror, Ive seen platters on youtube/google before but never did they seem so shiny , stuck a molex in it from my test psu and it started up, didn't continuously spin but it would spin for a minute or two and that was enoth time to start my own art with my girlfriends eye liner when i finished there were perfect circles around the platter, but that wasn't enoth.... dug out my old scalpul set and started again, the platters felt weird with the scalpuls, as if there were a thin layer that would scrape away after about 2 seconds of scrapping. maybe it was the data if you've read this far my apologies for wasting your time you see i suffer from insomnia and i tend to ramble about the stuff i fix... that was not broken in the first place :) just thought id share my evening activities with you all
