| Howdy guys I just got an old hard drive from a buddy of mine and when I installed it the hard drive displays roughly 30GB for its total size. I have tried to reformat the drive using computer management and DOS Prompt and nothing has worked. Any help you can send my way is much appreciated. I am running Windows XP Pro SP 3 The drive it is a Maxtor 6L300R0 Thanks again! |

| Could be few things.. Ask your friend if he set up a host protected area (HPA) on the drive. Check your cabling - is the drive showing up the same information in DM as it is on the drive - model and serial? Can you get s screenshot of Disk Manager module showing this drive ? |

| Try removing all existing partitions, using a 3rd party program, like Acronis Disk Director.
