Default Hard drive problems

Today when on my PC my Hard Drive seems to stop working.
It comes up Disk Read Error and pretty much nothing will load off the Hard drive.
Things load for a bit then just shut themselves down.

Any help would be appreciated if possible

Thanks,

Sounds like the drive is on the way out.

Do a scandisk on it to see if it can fix any errors.
