Just seeing it was a bad brand. Like hitachi or samsung. Its a western digital caviar so that pretty much rules out the drive being the issue. Simply process of elimination.

If you think for 1 minute that a hitachi drive is as good as a WD or Seagate drive then you have a lot to learn. Never said it wasent the drive is said it was unlikely.

Sorry,did I say that?
Let me give you a different example of your logic.
Customer: There is a strange sound coming from my cars engine
Mechanic(you): What make of car is it?
Customer :A BMW
Mechanic(you): Oh well it cant be the engine because BMWs are great.

So i could find out what the model number was just to be sure it wasent a cheapo drive. like a companys name is always in the model number. ST at the start for Gate drives WD...... for Western digital drives.

Download HijackThis Here
Once you have it downloaded install/save it to it's own folder!!! This is important for it to work properly.
For example save in C:\program files\hijackthis
You can then create a shortcut on the desktop.
Once installed open the program and select Do a system scan and save logfile.
**Important DO NOT have Hijack This fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.
Save the log to your desktop.
In the next post click Go Advanced.
Scroll down and click Manage Attachments and add the log as an attachment.
um. bump.
