Default HD Failure?

Ok, I'm running a 320gb internal drive. I'd been getting a lot of bsod's, but I've been getting much more recently (about 15 minutes after booting up I would crash to blue screen) from the time I got the computer, so I ran chkdsk, and I got this:

75% completed (this is when it stopped)
The volume appears to contain one or more unrecoverable problems.
312560608 Kilobytes total disk space
304183092 Kilobytes are available

So, since it has unrecoverable problems, I'm guessing that means that it's basically shot?

If the scan disc only gets to 75% and won't complete then yes that is a problem.

If possible try putting the drive in another machine as a slave and do the scan disk again.

This will take some load off the drive as it is not being used to run the OS while being scanned.

Well, no other computer of mine has SATA, all are on IDE, but I may be able to hop over to one of my friends house with more recent computers and test it out. I'll probably end up just shipping it back for replacement from Newegg though.

If you return it to new egg you will need to do a new install with the new drive so just format it now.

If it won't format replace it.

I've formatted the drive quite a few times already, and it usually is unable to get through the installation of Windows, and the one time it has, all profiles had passwords (which I had not set) and there was no turn off computer button.
