Computer has 1 SATA drive and 1 DVD burner. When the devices are on different cables, does it make a difference with the Master/Slave jumper settings. The SATA dirve had no jumper pin with the drive. Do I set the optical drive to master on its cable anyway.Does it make any difference that there is no jumper on the SATA drive.

I just read in small print on the SATA dr that the jumpers are not required. I am going to set the optical drive to master. That way I know if I add another drive to that cable it will have to go as slave.
