Hello,
Thanks for looking-

I have a ASUS A8N-SLI mobo with 2x 250GB Maxtor DiamondMax10 SATA drives in RAID0

They have been happy until recently when I had a problem with my 6800GT (which is now replaced with a 8500GT)

My RAID0 doesn't appear in My Computer or even Disk Management

It has lots of my Video Production work on it, so I'm desperate to get it back!

I'm not sure what software/utilities I should have on the PC and suspect that's the issue, as I think I've enabled/configured RAID in the BIOS correctly.

I wasn't sure what version of nForce drivers/nVidia utilities to install, and think some of them may be wrong?

I was getting an error upon boot:
"nvidia raid service english has encountered a problem"
so removed nvidia RAID from startup.. I also have other nVidia software including 'PhysX' which doesn't launch anymore:
'NvCplUI.exe - Application Error' memory could not be read...

Any help would be amazing. Ask what you need to know

What made you think putting important data on a RAID0 array was a good idea?

Wanting a performance edge over competing video producers, albeit it at the risk of lost data.
I think I'd be in the same situation if the RAID was mirrored though..?

Cheers

That's why people usually put drives in RAID 0 (or, the worry-free solution, a SSD) for short-term work and then move finished work to a non-mirrored drive or back it up. Keeping important data on one hard drive without backups is bad enough without doubling your risk of failure.

You might try using something like Raid Reconstructor. You didn't specify whether the hard drives themselves showed up, though, so whether it's a HDD failure or just a array that needs to be rebuilt isn't clear.
