Default How to connect USB memory stick to...

...computer? I'm at school right now, and I ahve a MS office file saved on my memory card...but the PC I'm on doesn't seem to recognise the card! I don't have access to control panel, and I also can't right click or anything, because school PC has limmited options (unless ur Admin). I'm running Intel Celeron, Winows 98, on an IBM PC 300GL...I've also tried restarting computer to see if it'll recognise it as an extra drivee, but nothing happened. Also, refreshing the "My Computers" page doesn't work...Please help!!!Thanks Colin, you are right :) I'm just going to use the XP PC's in the library. You get best answer 4 hrs later. Thanks to everyone else too for taking time to answer.

Sounds like your school computers have a policy to stop you using USB sticks. Lots of network admins do this because it means they can manage the systems better as USB stick are one way of introducing viruses onto the PC's. Speak to the local admin guy and ask if it is allowed, there are friendly people if you are polite with them. Hope this helps.

I don't think USB drives work with Windows 98, unless there is an appropriate hardware drive installed from the drive's manufacturer. You need Administration privileges to install software

USB Pen Drives need additional drivers to work with Win98.
