Hi, I have windows XP, dual core 1,86 Ghz 1Gb RAM and such but after two weeks of complete not using my PC it has started to behave strange, meaning it restarts whenever I put a CD or a DVD inside and it cannot connect to monitor, after I remove the cd/dvd it starts working normally. It doesn't matter what kind of disc is inside even with inverted it resulted with restarting. I'm not too much into computers so normally I would just reinstall windows but I have a lot of quite important data which I cannot burn so I ask for help...please... any ideas?
PS I scanned the computer with three diffrent programs with no result

Try disconnecting the drive for a few days.

If the problem goes then the drive is probably faulty and needs replacing.
