and there are two 250mb hard drives inside!

I need to get my data off them (power portion broke on the hd casing), but I dont know how since there are two of them.

One is set to master and one slave...

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I dont have a desktop to install these into.

Thanks

One of those kits will enable you to plug the drives into any machine with a USB port.

Yeah that kit is fine, can probably be found a bit cheaper though.

You can only connect one HD at a time and the purpose of the kit would be to get your data off, not for a permanent setup.

The hard drive is RAID 0. Are you sure this will work? I thought I had to connect both hard drives together to get the data?

thanks!!!

Basically, you have no way to get the data back, short of going to a professional company, buying another identical external hard drive to yours or replacing the power supply that is broken.

The way RAID 0 works is that it distributes data across both disks, so if one dies, the others useless.

Edit: Saying that, if it is only the power supply portion that is broken you may be able to jerry rig up to the molex / sata power connectors on the drives straight from your computers power supply, and manage to get your data off.

Some pictures of what you have and the connectors would really help here.
