hi, iv got a ide 120gb hdd and iv turned my new comp it to a media cantre the only problem is that it takes 5mins to load the boot screen and when it does it says insert a propper boot device this is the only ide so i want it as master so what should the pin config be im pretty cluless

If there is only one drive it matters not what channel it is on.

If you have an optical drive on the same cable you need to set the HDD to master and the optical to slave , if you only have the HDD on the cable as Dave says.
