yes because all of my data is in it.
yesterday i plugged it in my friends laptop, after it has been detected, i am unable to explore or open it so i used the command prompt to go to its directory. after that i tried to format it. it was near enough to completion but a sudden error came out which says "ERROR IN IOCTL CALL". is there any other way that i can format it? any software i can use to format it? no need for software for recovering lost files because i already have one. PLS HELP.. TECHNICALLY... |

Maybe we could of helped, except that you already went and formatted it, meaning you've lost all that data.

yes i have formatted it but i can use my software that can get data from disk which may either be formatted or deleted.
if you could help me fix the problem regarding the "ERROR IN IOCTL CALL" because my usb's recent status is when plugged in, it can be detected by the PC but when you double click on it it says to insert a disk and i can't even format it in the command prompt or in the y computer itself. |

Got the same problem with some of our USB drives.
Haven't been able to work out the exact origins of it. Tried multiple programs to format the drive, even a zero-fill. I doubt the problem is in formatting the drive, it seems more access related on the drive side. Unfortunately i don't have direct physical access to the drive at this moment, but with a little luck i'll be receiving the defective drive in the coming week. So i'll be able to investigate further. I'll keep you posted. |
