Right... I am here because I have a PC I bought for £75 from a guy in Canterbury. The PC has been working fine, although a bit slow. Now, my problem is it came with a CD drive that worked perfectly. It also came with a DVD drive that works.... not at all. I try connecting it, go to boot up and it comes back with Primary Slave: ATAPI incompatible. Searched for that error, says maybe connectors, which I checked, or BIOS is not done properly. So I go into BIOS, alter Primary Slave to Auto setting. Save and exit... now it says "Primary Slave: HDD error". Then it tries to boot and does nothing. So I go back into BIOS, alter Primary Slave to User setting, restart and it does the same. Now I am near the end of my tether. I don't have much patience left and I'm seriously frustrated that I can't solve this. Does anyone have any idea how to sort this out before my computer becomes a load of metal in the bin?

As for sounding a bit... commanding. I don't mean to be. So apologies everyone.

I got it sorted... it was so simple it's stupid. The DVD drive was set as Master, not Slave. It was conflicting with the Hard Drive. Thanks for the help anyways!
