I am Running Windows XP home edition with a 250gb hard drive...but a while ago i made a partition on this hard drive of +-68gb and since then i have lost nearly 100gb...when i try to make another partition it only shows about 70gb of space to make the partition ...

Its probably unallocated.
Right click My Computer and go to Manage > Storage > Disk Management Usually the top one (Disk 0) is what you want (If its your primary Drive) but either way it'll be obvious when you look at it. The bar will run horizontally and is split vertically showing partitions. Your standard is the main segment, an EISA Configuration, and a Databurst, if you partitioned it again manually that segment will also show up. Anything else might be what you're after, I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure U/A space is marked "Un-Allocated" so that'll help ;)

It shows my hard drive is only 128gb and will only add up to the 128 no bigger
|
