| When my daughter's laptop had to be returned to HP for (another) motherboard replacement, I bought a Maxtor 250Gb JadeEXT external drive to back everything up in case HP disappeared the data. Now I need to back up data on my PC as I want to change partitions and install XP. Problem is I am running 98SE and it does not recognise the Maxtor which apparently needs 2000 or higher. Is there a way of persuading it to be recognised by 98SE, otherwise it is a case of burning a fistful of DVDs (with the added problem of trying to decide what I need to back up). |

| Have a look here for your model .... if there is a driver available, it should be here.

| There don't seem to be any drivers for 98 in that batch for that drive model. I have tried a 98 driver for one of the other models but still no recognition. As I feared, it looks like plan B then - collection of dvds and back up vital stuff. |
