elo all, wen i plug in my memory stick my laptop does nuffin not recognizin anything, any ideas y? its only just started doin it.....and my memory card reader has the same problem...? any help appreciated:-)

You're being ambiguous. If you mean "my memory card reader is also not recognized on my laptop" then your laptop has a problem. If you mean "putting my memory stick into my memory card reader still fails to read it" then you have a dead memory stick.

If you want to discuss it a bit more you might also like to mention the operating system, the laptop model and the memory stick type just so we can save using our imaginations so much.

I try to make my advice as general as the question. My operating system, for example, doesn't have restore points, and he might use the same as I do for all I can tell.

Try the stick in another PC ... if it works ok, you know the stick is good and we can look at what's wrong with yr Laptop.

my memory stick works in other other computers and i can use my memory card in another computer aswell so summink wrong with my laptop....cheers

OK .... just to clarify .... when you say Memory Stick and Memory Card .... are we talking about Sony Memory Stick and USB Memory Card or ??

Also, assuming Sony Memory Stick .... has your Laptop got an inbuilt Card Reader(s) for the Memory Stick or are you using a USB Card Reader ?

In Device Manager .... have you got any Yellow exclamation Marks ? .... if so, give details.
