I have had the My book es for about 1 year now and it died just the other day. I have tried the recovery software i have nothing i don't really need anything on it i just want it working again. I plug it into any computer and all it does is install the drivers for the My book es and not anything else. i see nothing in my computer and the computer management console it does not show the drive for me to format so is there anyway that i might be able to format it at all. So is there any other way in which i can format it.

So long as it isn't faulty it will show in disk manager.

Nope, if it is faulty then there is a good chance it will not show up/detect/install at all.

There could be other reasons why it is not showing up, checking to see if the drive shows in disk manager is the easiest way of finding out.
