My Pc doesnt recognise external Harddrive

My mate gave me a external harddrive with like 30 gb worth of songs and some family guy episodee. i plugged it all in via usb but my comp isnt finding it
i did that installing of new harddrive but when it searches for it, it never finds it
what can i do?

Should be on the outside of the drive? If you have a camera you could take a picture of it and I could look it up.

You need 20 posts to PM, I think.

oh my god
haha i just read about the net about my problem and i found a solution
I actually made it work and its so simple
i just unplugged it for half hour and then plugged it in the back port
and bam
works
