| I've had this problem before. I agree that system restore points take a lot of your hard drive. It can take up to 10GB of space depending on the settings. |

| you can optimize your PC by deleting temp, %temp% and prefetch files or junk files and remove unwanted software from control panel > add/remove programs, if you don't use one of them and make free space in your hard drive you can use Tune up utililty software which will help for optimizing your PC. |

| It can actually take more, as it is worked out as a percentage of the total drive capacity, so if you had a 500GB drive, System restore could take up to 32.5 GB. |

| Here's something that you probably haven't thought of, check that you have System Restore turned off on all drives. This feature chews hard drive space up like there is no tomoro! Also turn off system hibernation in display settings/power settings, when the systems hibernates it dumps all the information on the ram onto the hard drive. |
