| I've noticed that when my PC (running XP SP2) is processing information there is a small but noticeable noise, which seems to be coming from the hard drive. The noise is like a small 'drumming' sound. There seems to be no functional problem, just the noise, however, I downloaded and ran the MAXTOR utility (for windows) which gave instant fails on both the short and long self tests. Drive is MAXTOR STM3250820AS. Problem or not? |

| It's possible it could be on the way out.

Noise is normally a tell tale sign and their testing software failing backs that up I guess. Maxtor drives are also not the most reliable around, I've had many fail on me. My System: Hybr!d
