| Well, I understand what it means, but...Do I need to be 'non-oem'? I'm building a PC, just purchased antec 900 and earthwatts 500 psu with p35 mother board. Everyone says that OEM means it comes without screws, cables, or instructions. Will the power supply / motherboard come with the SATA cable I need? I am looking at this hard drive. If anyone can recommend another quiet 16mb cache 500gb hard drive for around 100 bucks that is not "OEM", I'd appreciate it. |

| OEM Means you just get the drive and brief instructions. Your mobo will come with everything else anyway.

| Usually means (a) you don't get the fancy landfill box and (b) you are entitled to a reduced cost OEM copy of Windoze. (Means nothing to Linux else we would have to pay people to use it!)

| Motherboard will come with more than enough, trust me, PSU should come with the SATA power and motherboard with extra data cables.
