Default Partition Trouble...

Im running on a vista computer, and i have 2 partitions that came with the computer, the OS partition (C:) and RECOVERY (D:)

My problem is that i find that RECOVERY doesnt have enough space on for my backup it only came with 10gb and i have little or almost no space to successfully complete my backup. My OS Partition has 144gb free of 222gb.

I've looked in many places what to do, but i didn't find anything helpful because people were advised just to delete last backup well in my case i couldn't even finish a backup because i didn't have enough space on that partition

How do I add more space to the RECOVERY (D:) partition?

Why do you want to back up your files to your recovery partition? If it came with the computer when you bought it then I can tell you it wasn't created for user backups.

Take backups on a different HDD, internal or external, or cds / dvds.

Then what is recovery for?

And I guess another partition couldn't hurt for backups, thanks

Recovery partition is a disk image of the drive when the laptop was manufactured so if you mess anything up you can go back to it.
