Hi!
Yesterday I had issues with Windows, it didn't start-up, so I decided to reinstall it. I did this recently and I could choose to reinstall it to another hard drive with keeping the data... I have a 250GB HDD with partition C and E, and a 500GB HDD with partition D. Now, when the partition console appeared in the installation I choosed to install it to partition D. Now there were no option to install with keeping the data, it only suggested to format it. So I said NO. But when I went back to the partition screen it said that partition D is unknown I did nothing, I'm sure the data is still present! So, I formatted c instead and reinstalled windows. No it says that partition D is unformatted and in RAW format!! Could you please help me? I only pointed Windows to install itself to D, and when it asked if I want to remove the data I choosed NO! I really really hope there is a way to recover this disk... Thanks in advance! :sigh: |

Well it seems as though the partition has become corrupted somehow in the process.

You could try a Recovery program such as RecoverMyFiles. It's not free, but you can download a free trial, which will show you what files are recoverable, before you spend any money. I've used this myself and it helped me to recover a few thousand photos last year, so it's definitely worth a try. My System: Home Build
