When I try to open the C.D. with all my treasured photos, My P.C. seems unable to recognize the C.D. and indicates "Free space 0 bytes,Total size 0 Bytes." I have used this disc many times and know that the photos are on there. Can anyone help me with this problem?

What kind of CD is it? I had the same problem with a Dell computer we got from my wife's work. Turns out there was a firmware problem with the CD player. once I figured out what model it was, I found the firmware update and it worked peachy keen.

The cd is a CD-R which has been in use since 2001, over which time I have added many photos. These seem to have disappeared. I wonder if there is any software that can recover information from C.D's ?

Further to my post about My P.C. not recognizing C.D's containing my photo's, The discs were tried in five different P.C's with the same results-"Freespace 0 bytes,Total size 0 bytes" They were then tried on a P.C operating Vista and - Hey Presto! there they were. How could this be? My O.S. is Windows XP. The question is a. How could this occur? and b. How can it be prevented from happening again? Any suggestions?
